Imagine entering a historic hall on Salt Spring Island and walking through to enjoy contemporary arts and crafts made by BC’s Gulf Islands’ artists and crafts people. Handmade objects from emerging and well-established artists including wood-turned arbutus bowls, felted wool and silk shawls and scarves, pottery and handmade baskets, an impressive range of silver and goldsmiths jewelry – even hand made soaps, books and greeting cards.
ArtCraft is an artist gallery and gift-shop, located in Mahon Hall at 114 Rainbow Rd.
It is BC ‘s longest running and largest exhibit of art and craft. For over 40 years ArtCraft has been home to the finest artists of the Gulf Islands providing a cultural destination for locals and international visitors.
Be sure to check out the Showcase Gallery within ArtCraft, which hosts an ever-changing art exhibit by leading artists featuring sculpture, painting, and photography.
ArtCraft is an initiative of the Salt Spring Arts Council and represents juried work from 150 artists and artisans living on the Southern Gulf Islands. It is open daily 10am -5pm mid-June through mid-September.
