Established in 1948, the Salt Spring Island Chamber of Commerce has effectively served the business community and residents of Salt Spring. We work to provide Islanders with a community where citizens can enjoy life while earning a living. Your support and membership can make a difference to you, your business and your community.
WHAT WE DOIn the Heart of downtown Ganges - The Chamber of Commerce building in the heart of downtown Ganges provides a place for residents and visitors to go with their questions. More than 40,000 people walk through the doors of 121 Lower Ganges Road each year.
Three Local Land Lines and a 1-800 information line - Four very busy telephone lines and many people responsible for answering the calls and providing information to the caller.
Three email addresses - Hundreds of emails are received each day. These three email addresses within the Chamber are constantly used by people and businesses all over the world.
High Traffic Website - www.saltspringtourism.com, is a member management system. All members have a profile that they are able to change at any time. Anyone in the community can add an event to the Community Events Calendar. Residents Card sponsoring businesses let island residents know of their monthly specials through this website. Visitors can locate accommodations, recreational activities, shops and services all from this one website.
Business Promotion - Your business can display your brochure and /or business card in the Visitor Centre to capture the attention of the more than 40,000 residents and visitors that walk through the door.
Advertising Opportunities - The Accommodation and Recreation brochure, the Island Map, Print and Website advertising and Links to many different websites are benefits all members enjoy.
Networking Opportunities - The Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce hosts monthly Business Breakfast Club Meetings. The meetings allow members the opportunity to share ideas and business information and to connect with others. Seminars and business mixers occur throughout the year.
