Established in 1948, the Salt Spring Island Chamber of Commerce has effectively served the business community and residents of Salt Spring. We work to provide Islanders with a community where citizens can enjoy life while earning a living.

Climate ChangeAt the July 9, 2008 Board of Directors meeting the Board approved the following policy regarding climate change.
The Chamber commits to developing and implementing solutions to addressing the emerging climate change challenges by encouraging its members and other stakeholders to:
- Significantly increase the efficiency of their direct use of fossil fuel-based energy in heating, cooling, transportation, purchasing and general operations.
- Regularly consider substituting renewable energy for non-renewable energy consumption.
- Continuously assess their energy use and work with the Chamber, its members, and others in the community to make smarter energy decisions.
