Forgotten Females of Salt Spring Island Exhibition Opening and Curator’s Talk. An exhibition featuring how four self-taught female artists, Florence Walter, Sophie King, Beryl Weatherell, and Gwen Ruckle, built community through their artistic practice. Curated by Regan Shrumm through the Salt Spring Arts Council’s Artist in Residence program. The opening on February 10 will feature a curator’s talk by Regan Shrumm, where she will talk about her practice as well as explain the history of the four artists. The opening will also be the launch for the exhibition catalogue, which will be given out by donation. There will be free refreshments and snacks. The exhibition will run from February 6 to 28 in the Salt Spring Public Library.
